The Timbers, a wooded 55 acre estate located in British Columbia’s Gulf Islands, has spacious all-season cottages to choose from, designed with the needs of vacationing families in mind. They are all self-contained and private with an ocean view, have lots of deck space, and even their own beach.

Because we aim to make our guests feel right at home, the interiors, too, were carefully planned for comfort and convenience. The wood and slate floors, for instance, in addition to being beautiful, also ensure quick and easy clean-up.
Each of The
Timber's cottages has been professionally decorated in a casual, country style and includes details like Persian throw rugs, and paintings and murals by local artists. The murals of birds – oyster catchers and kingfisher among them -- are unique to each cottage and are representative of the avian creatures with whom we share this very special environment.

From the filled spice racks to the plush cushions and warm throws on the rockers we have tried to think of everything you need in your home away from home. In addition to the comfy furniture, the dining/living-rooms have colour TV with all the major satellite channels, a VCR, a stereo system with CD player, and a wood stove.

| The bright, cheery kitchens are equipped with refrigerator and stove, microwave, dishwasher, ample counter space, and plenty of dishes, cutlery, cookware, and small appliances – everything the cook needs for those chocolate chip cookies the kids are always asking for.
On the spacious deck, there is a gas barbeque, patio furniture, and an ample supply of firewood. Ah, the romance of relaxing in front of the fire after a day outdoors and a splendid home-cooked dinner.
Many of the materials used in building the cottages were hewn, milled, or extracted from the property itself. Like the surrounding forest, they rose from the ingredients of the estate’s earth and reflect its peace and serenity. |

Whether it’s a swim you want, a quiet lie about on a secluded beach, a place for the kids to play, the opportunity to visit with other families around a cozy fire, a walk through the woods, or a boat ride – The Timbers
has it all. There is a heated 18 x 42 swimming pool, a communal fire pit under a large gazebo, a children’s play area, even a hobby farm where you may purchase fresh eggs and veggies in season. And if you would like to investigate the island by water, there is a 14 foot aluminum motor boat available free of charge at The Timbers dock. Beaumont Marine Park, Port Browning, and Poets Cove Seaside Resort are all within a short distance by boat.
